COACHES
Welcome to AYSO Region 65. We thank you for volunteering your time and service to our program.
It is important that you understand and implement AYSO's philosophy, for it is you who will have the most contact with and impact upon our young participants.
Remember that we are playing the game for fun, and for the fun of the children. While you should encourage the very best performance out of your team, never lose sight of the fact that it is just a game.

Fall 2020 / Spring 2021 Season
Update: In accordance with State, County, and Local Covid-19 guidelines/ordinances, we will not be able to offer coaches the opportunity to coach more than one team (Double Head) due to the "cohort" restrictions.
Cohorts of kids and adults in controlled, supervised settings
A cohort is a stable group of no more than 14 children and no more than two supervising adults in a supervised environment. This group avoids contact with anyone not in their group.
Practicing a cohort structure
- decreases opportunities for exposure to or transmission of the virus
- facilitates more efficient contact tracing in the event of a positive case
- allows for targeted testing, quarantine, and isolation of a single group instead of an entire population of kids and supervising adults
Updating Your Coach Volunteer Profile
If you have already signed up for two or more divisions, please update your Coach volunteer profile to indicate your Coaching Priority / Preference (1, 2, 3) or Zero (No preference) so that we can assign you to a team/cohort based on the number of available positions.
Head Coaches, please provide your Assistant Coach & Player Request(s) for Draw Night within the Head Coach volunteer profile.
Please make sure your Assistant Coach has registered in Blue Sombrero / Sports Connect as soon as possible.
Note: All individuals participating with our players must be Certified AYSO Volunteers which includes: registering in Sports Connect (formerly Blue Sombrero), passing a Background Check and completing the appropriate AYSO training requirements.
Updating Your Preferred Practice Information
If your preferred practice information has changed, please update your Head Coach volunteer profile as soon as possible.
Reminder: This information is provided to assist in the creation of the practice schedule among the available fields. This does not give you a Practice Field. You will select your practice field when the Practice Scheduler opens. Click here for more information.
While we understand the inability to coach more than one team will be inconvenient, we appreciate your cooperation with these guidelines so that we can have a successful season.
Thank you for volunteering!
