AYSO University (AYSOU) Courses

Welcome AYSO Region 65 Volunteers!

Here you will find information on the required Online & In-Person courses each volunteer must complete for their position.  These courses are available through the AYSOU (AYSO University) Learning Management System (LMS).

Note: Each Coach Level has it's own set of requirements and strategies.  If you have an Intermediate/14U or Advanced Coach certification, this does not automatically qualify you for a lower level certification.  You must be certified for each level you wish to coach.




AYSO / US Soccer Coach Training Equivalency 
A cross-certification policy has been created for all coaches who hold a valid coaching license issued by US Soccer.

AREA G Playoffs  * Update *
 
To participate in playoffs, all Head Coaches & Asst Coaches MUST be registered with AYSO National and certified at the appropriate coach level.
This includes the completion of all Safe Haven courses and any additional courses required for each Coaching level.  A qualified coach must be present with the team at all times along with signed player registration forms, eSignature verification page necessary. Photocopies will be acceptable if the forms have been resigned by parent/guardian. Coaches shall be responsible for the behavior of their spectators and shall promote a positive atmosphere.

These Online Courses are the prerequisites that you must complete before attending the Instructor Led Courses.

All online courses are available on AYSOU except SafeSport (see below).

Tip: After you complete each online course you are presented with the course certificate. Please download a pdf copy and keep for your records in the event the course completion was not recorded by the system. Without this proof of completion you may need to take the course again. In addition to saving a local copy of the pdf, you may want to send an email to yourself and attach the certificate so you can find it easily if needed. Use the Subject: AYSO Cert

AYSO's Safe Haven


AYSO's Safe Haven

This free online course is required for all AYSO Volunteers. The Volunteer Protection Act of 1997 provides certain legal protections for volunteers who have been trained and certified and act in accordance with a written job description. Safe Haven includes these three elements, giving volunteers the highest degree of protection available under the law.

CDC HEADS UP Concussion


CDC HEADS UP Concussion

This free online course is required for all volunteers that interact with our players on the field such as Coaches & Referees and recommended for all other volunteers. 

Length: appx 1 hr

  

Note: In the event the AYSOU LMS is not available or you are experiencing account issues with SportsConnect, you can take this course through the CDC website. You will need to create an account, complete your account profile and complete a 30 question Pre-Assessment.

We recommend you only do this as a last resort after all other alternatives have been exhausted. Please make sure you are in contact with the Region 65 CVPA before you take the course below. Email: [email protected]

Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)


Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the number one cause of death in the United States for student athletes during exercise. Caused by a structural or electrical problem associated with the heart, Sudden Cardiac Arrest happens when the heart unexpectedly stops beating and pumping blood. With content developed by Simon’s Heart, this course will help you learn and recognize the warning signs and symptoms of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

SafeSport


SafeSport  (this information is being updated)

This is a new course that is required by the U.S. Center for SafeSport for all AYSO Volunteers.

You must use this link with the special key (tsVWe36Xa6PS3b5NzOug) to be recognized as an AYSO Volunteer.
The system will prompt you to provide your information and create an account. Use the same email you used in SportsConnect when you submitted your volunteer application.

You do not need to provide a MembershipID, select your Volunteer Role (Admin, Coach, Official, etc) and for Name of Sport or Community Organization, type: AYSO

When you logon, go to My Courses and verify the following course appears. The course is Free.
If you dont see any courses, a different course or there is a fee listed, there was a problem when you registered.

AYSO's Summary of the Laws of the Game

This free online module presents a summary of the "Laws of the Game" and is required for all Intermediate/14U & Advanced Coaches.  Alternatively, you could sign up for the Regional Referee course which will give you a greater appreciation for how your fellow Referee volunteers approach the game to keep it safe and fun for our players.  Either course will satisfy the requirement.
