1. Sign up as a volunteer (Even Returning Referees must do this step every Fall)

If you are not a minor - Reply to the email from Sterling to approve your Background Check. Check your Spam folder. Choose the option that lets the Region pay.
2. Complete the Safe Haven, CDC Concussion Awareness and Sudden Cardiac Arrest courses online

3. Complete the SafeSport training online

4. Be fingerprinted via LiveScan. (Minors do not get fingerprinted. Neither do 6U/8U Officials (Referees))

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there an age restriction?
A: Yes, youth referees must be at least 12 years old, and may referee games 2 years below them (e.g. - U10 for a 12 year old)
Q: Do I need to pre-register for an in-person course?
A. Yes! YOU MUST REGISTER TO RECEIVE CREDIT FOR CLASS.
Q: What should I bring to the course?
A: You’ll need paper and a pen/pencil for taking notes. We’ll provide you with course materials.
Q: What if I am late arriving to a course?
A: Punctual attendance is critical. Late arriving students may be asked to attend another course
