AYSO Alliance is the highest level of competitive soccer through AYSO, designed to provide players the opportunity to compete in club leagues and at club tournaments. It is intended to enhance each player’s experience and development through the game of soccer, while retaining the philosophies of AYSO. Alliance is a program that will provide a higher level of training from more experienced coaches and a higher level of competition for those involved. Players participating in this program will compete against Cub teams in their local area including the possibility of competing in the State Cup.
Initially, Alliance teams will be competing in the Coast Soccer League - changes are possible in the future.
Alliance requires an increased time and money commitment from both parents and players, including attendance at all practices and matches as well as a sense of responsibility toward coaches, team members, and the league referees. The team is financially self-supporting and fundraising will be required for each player and parents are expected to participate. Games will be played in the local area and tournaments may be played throughout Southern California, and neighboring states. Fall league games are typically played on Saturday or Sunday, with the possibility of double-headers. This program was designed for serious soccer players and their families and may not be appropriate for athletes who wish to compete in multiple sports. Each Alliance team could compete at different levels and it is important to ensure that your player joins a team that is competing at a level they are comfortable with.
Similar to the EXTRA and Select programs, the Alliance teams are formed during Open Tryouts where players that attend will be evaluated and recommended for the teams. Alliance is a year-round commitment covering both the Fall and Spring seasons. Practices can begin soon after tryouts and the team will remain together through June of the following year.
