Fall 2020 Volunteers

Attention Fall 2020 Volunteers

We encourage our returning and especially any new volunteers to sign up for the Fall 2020 season as soon as possible!
At this time, we are asking that you only complete Phase 1 of the Volunteer Registration process.

This includes signing up as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach (in the Fall 2020 Core program) and Referee or Board Member (in the Referee & Board Registration - MY20 program) and then eSigning the volunteer application form.

Once you have eSigned you will see the following message where you would normally continue to the Sterling Volunteers website to start the Background Check process.

We are asking you NOT to proceed to Phase 2 - DO NOT select Start Background Check Process
Click OK to end the volunteer signup at this time.

Background Check Fee

Normally, Region 65 pays the $25 fee for the background check. However, the system is temporarily set to charge you for this fee! - yikes
This is only meant as a flag so that you do not continue with the process.

As a volunteer organization, we do not want to incur a huge expense and we also know that many of you graciously choose to pay the fee to help out the region. We are asking that you do not continue so that you do not have to pay those fees if there is a chance we are not able to move forward with the Fall season.

This will allow us to gather the pool of volunteers and verify training certifications.
We will send out an email notification when you can proceed.

Coaches

If you are a Head Coach, be sure to provide us with your desired Asst Coach when you complete the volunteer profile and make sure to have your Asst Coach sign up as well.  It is extremely important to signup and complete the minimum required online training courses as soon as possible.  The training requirements are the same for both Head & Assistant coaches.

At a minimum, to be considered as a coach for the Fall 2020 season, you must have completed the following Online courses...

  - Safe Haven
  - CDC Concussion
  - Coach course for your requested division.

  - Also, the new California State - Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) training.

You must also meet any of the listed prerequisites for the 14U or higher divisions
Please refer to the AYSOU Courses page for more information.

Thank you for your understanding and thank you for volunteering to help our program
