CA Fingerprint DOJ Background Check Status

What to do if your CA Fingerprint Background Check has not cleared

The information from the DOJ is processed every week on Monday. If it has been several weeks since the time you completed the LiveScan session, you'll need to check the DOJ website to verify your status. This will require two steps, find your ATI Number and then use that information to check your status via the DOJ website.

Step 1

You will need to access the Applicant Services website where you registered to process your application for the LiveScan Fingerprint Event or Individual Appointment. Visit the Applicant Services website: 

Next, login using the same email you use to access SportsConnect (our registration system, aka Blue Sombrero).
Note: The Applicant Services website may indicate your password has expired. You will need to follow the instructions to reset your password. The system may also send a Security code to your email or cellphone to authenticate your account

Once you are able to access your account, you should be at the Transaction History page.



Generally, you can click "Year-To-Date" in the Date Range box (or another choice that reflects when you processed your LiveScan) and your transaction should appear in the lower section of the screen (see below).

Locate your ATI number and write it down. You will use this to lookup your status via the DOJ website.

Also, please take a picture of this screen with your cellphone or perform a screen capture on your computer as you will need to send us this information. More on that later...


That's it, you are ready to move on to the next step!

Step 2

Next, you will go to the DOJ website to check the status of your Fingerprint Background Check.
Visit the DOJ website: 

Enter your ATI NumberDate of Birth, check the "I'm not a robot" box and click Submit.


The system will display your Fingerprint Background Check Status OR an error may occur if your information cannot be found. In either case, please take a picture of the screen/message with your cellphone or take a screen capture on your computer.

Status Completed - MM/DD/YYYY, Success!! the system was able to find your information and the Applicant Background Check Status shows Completed.


Applicant Transaction Not Found - The system was not able to find your Fingeprint Background Check Status


Lastly, please forward the images you captured to [email protected] and we will follow-up with AYSO. If your information was found, they will be able to update your volunteer compliance information.  If your information was not found, they will be able to investigate further and determine next steps.
